Review of the Macgregor 26M by Mike Stanton

Year built 2011
Location of boat East Jordan, MI
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? Yes
Owner bought the boat in Boat
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Not sure
Gear that's been added Compass, clinometer, cabin furnishings, chrome companionway handle, single-line reefing.
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features Value, cabin room for size of boat, ease of use, absence of a keel, lightweight
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Boat is way too "tender" . . . heels excessively even in moderate air when other adjacent sailboats in same air are not heeling. Hesitant to "come about" as compared to other sailboats in lighter air.
Sailing characterisitcs
Motoring characterisitcs
Liveability
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Boats 4 Sale in Oconomowoc, WI gave me an excellent lower purchase price and outstanding assistance and service, both at time of purchase and years later! Sold me expensive after-market and replacement parts/accessories at almost his cost! Boats 4 Sale is the dealer to go with!
