How the boat is used Day sailing

Owner bought the boat in 2004
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, I don't want to be at the mercy of a marina. If I want to leave it dockside I can; if I want to take it home for repairs, cleaning, etc. I can do that. It is just what we wanted.
Gear that's been added New slides on the main. New wiring in cabin, and on trailer. Tiller-tamer. All new mahogany tiller, cabintop handrails, hatch, etc. New mahogany seat spaning the area under the tiller, across the cockpit at the transom. Transom boarding ladder. New halyards and sheets.
Structural or complex improvements New mahogany seat spaning the area under the tiller, across the cockpit at the transom... Covers the 6 gallon gas tank. In the process of changing the running lights to new led's. In process of rebuilding the bunks on the trailer, after moving the boat forward about 15 inches...also extended the trailer tongue about 4 feet.
The boat's best features Simplicity, availability of parts, tackle. Lightweight, great for inland waterways and lakes.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. I am in the process of pondering the best way to add a safe step inside the cockpit that can be taken out of the way of the ceterboard winch when needed. The first mate has a bad knee and it is a long step in and out of the
