Review of the Macgregor 26S by B Jones

Year built 1994
Location of boat Portland Oregon
The boat is sailed on Rivers
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2003
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Looked at many boats in this size, price range... Great boat, easily maintained, fun to sail! Plenty of room, fast..., for the size and where I am in life, it's perfect!!!
Gear that's been added Bought it used... doesn't need a thing! Great shape all around!
Structural or complex improvements No improvements needed.
The boat's best features Light weight for towing, low maintenance.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. So far, not a single problem!
Sailing characterisitcs Sailing the Columbia is a blast! When the wind is blowing from the east down the Columbia Gorge... it's an exciting ride!
Motoring characterisitcs Not much motoring, but the Macgregor is very easy to navigate.
Liveability I'd rather sleep on board that camp.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
Other comments Very pleased with my purchase!
