The boat's best features I like the fact that its trailerable.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Helm broke this year (teeth broke off, housing cracked. Both rudder brackets broke, one last year, one this year. Aluminum casting cracked. Boarding on a mooring was difficult until I bought a boarding ladder. Works well for me, but still difficult for others. While on the mooring, the boat fishtails around alot. Probably goes from 30 degrees starboard of the wind direction to 30 degrees port. I'm concerned about chafing the mooring lines.
Sailing characterisitcs May be my fault, but most other sailboats pass me on the same tack. Sometimes, its difficult to beat into the wind.
Motoring characterisitcs When using the motor only, I find it hard to steer straight. Works better with rudders down.
Liveability Have never stayed overnight. Day sails are fine. Grandkids can go below, like to perch themselves in the hatch. The head is good to have with them aboard.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Its been very good. I had to order the replacement rudder brackets and the staff was helpful and courteous. For the second bracket, I had to wait too long because they didn't have it in stock. I do not like the fact that they will not accept a credit card, but make me get a certified check.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any bought it used.
