Review of the Macgregor 26X by Mikael Borsing C/O Janelle Lombardo

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Definetly, We bought it used and in almost perfect condition. It came with many optional items such as; Bimini, Sailcatcher,furling system, slugs, genoa, gennaker, jib, Yamaha 50 4 stroke outboard (only 10 hrs, Raytheon fishfinder/speed/log/temp, shorepower / dual battery charger, mastraising system, head pumpout able potti, vhf (25w), masthead antenna / windvane / light, anchorlight, 6 lifevests, 6 docking bouies, boat hook, flares/gun, furlercover  
Gear that's been added 7 gal hard plastic water tanks, JRC1000 radar, Navman 5500 chartplotter, seccond anchor, seccond battery, hatch adjuster, Mr heater portable buddy heater, various trays for galley area, 6 pillows and a welcome mat w lighthouse motif, fishing pole holder, paper and towel holder in head + hook for foul weather gear inside door, seccond masthound sheet for gennaker, seccond cooler, 25w solarpanel, gas grill for cockpit mounting, foulweather gear, boomkicker, scutescoop, schroud schaf protection  
Structural or complex improvements radar tower, smoked plexiglass hatch instead of the original one  
The boat's best features Low price and maintainance, flexible, good performance and roomy/comfortable for its size  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Nothing... except you'll need a seccond anchor to keep it from sailing from side to side ;o)  
Sailing characterisitcs speeds of 4.5 closehauled and 5+ mph in 10-15 mph winds, behaves well.  
Motoring characterisitcs Good charasteristics under power but in foul weather fill your ballast tank for stabillity.  
Liveability good for it's size, especially when compareing it to other brands.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
