Owner bought the boat in 2000
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. This boats fits a family of four on overnight campling trips very nicely. You are not going to hold dance, and if the weather gets nasty you can get a little cramped. The trailoring really makes this boat versitle. Saltwater sailing is not all that accessible in Oregon, so I do quite alot of trailoring from one lake to another. This boat fits the bill quite nicely.
Gear that's been added A few odds and ends. Depth sounder and Harken mainsheet block.
Structural or complex improvements No.
The boat's best features Light weight and easy to trailor. Availability of parts has been very good.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Speader tips broke, but the part was inexpensive and easy to find.
Sailing characterisitcs Seems a little sensitive to heavy air. I also have experienced a fair amount of weather helm, in stiffer winds. I think this is related to rigging being out of tune, and I am working on that.
Motoring characterisitcs My moter is a DT4.5 Suzuki that dates from 1977. It seems to have more than enough power to push the boat, even with a good head wind.
Liveability When we go for a weekend with the family, we are "camping". The cabin allows us enough room for supplies, and equipemment, with just a litle room left over for people. I consider cabin much like a "tent on water". Two small children, two adults and the dog, can spend the night without discomfort.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Have not had the pleasure. Except for the spreader tip.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Purchased from an individual.
Other comments A very complete family overnighter. I have raised the mast solo in the past, but would recomend two people.
