Review of the Macgregor 26M by shawn parrington

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again?	most definatly. of course I might add its the only boat i have ever owned. while i was looking i seen many others and the price was way out of line for me. I can't believe what i payed for my macgregor compared to other boats. I love it and plan on keeping it for a long time. Thats not to say when i retire i might buy a 65 to live in but i will say what ever I do it will be in a macgregor.

The boat's best features	the ability of both sailing and powering.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.	none as of yet of course im still learning so for what i use it for she is very stable.
Sailing characterisitcs	the only problem I have is docking but i belive i just need to get use to it. I enjoy moving slowly along with a light breaze listening to some jimmy buffet and sipping on margarita's.(i did say sipping not gulping)
Motoring characterisitcs	Love it its not a speed boat but it gets me to where i need to be and Ive been cought in 2 good storms where she handled realy well.
Liveability	I would say it is livable if I didn't own a home i would live on her.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)	it was enjoyable except for the fact that the dealer gave me the empression that it was to much of a boat for me since i didnt have any experience.

Other comments	I have read many things on the web against the macgregor. Frankly i dont know what the _____ they are talking about. I could not imagine haveing any other boat. I love her and if i would have had her 20 years ago I would of never gotten married.
