Year built 1996
Location of boat Upnor, Kent (UK)
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes
Gear that's been added
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features Trailerability. Light weight day boat. Can be easily sailed single handed
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Trailer problems. High maintenance required to prevent seizing of breaks. i notice my models still has the drop down gate valve to drain water. A neighbouring Mac (2001 model) doesn't have this. The rubber on this valve does not seal and therefore the bilge fills whether I intend it to or not. Obviously later models had this feature designed out.
Sailing characterisitcs good onmly in light conditions. from Force 6, becomes difficult to handle
Motoring characterisitcs No problems
Liveability Ideal as a 2 berth. Cramped for 4. Definitely not for 6!
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought privately
