Review of the Macgregor 26X by Jim Melisi

Location of boat Chesepeake Bay  
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water  
How the boat is used Day sailing  
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots  
Average size of crew 2-4  
Liveaboard? No  
Owner bought the boat in 2002  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes but since I do mostly day sailing, a day sailer would have worked as well  
Gear that's been added roller furl genoa and a new engine wind vane indicator to top of mast added depth sounder  
Structural or complex improvements rewired electrical system, old one was original and in bad shape Replaced all the pumbing with new Replaced old cushions with new and added cockpit cushions  
The boat's best features able to get in and out of shallow areas  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
