26M Boat Cover

posted 11-09-2014 by sagehill

I had a custom cover made to mitigate sun damage and bird droppings. It is more cost effective ($4000) than building a boat shed. The material is Surlast; its waterproof and soft (non-abrasive). The cover is lightweight, or at least able to be mounted and removal by a single (but stronger) person. It is reinforced for abrasion along the mast and lifelines. The panel at the front and the zipper at the stern allow access. A good tent is created in the cockpit; well suited for overnighting during a long drive. The adjustable tie down clips allow for a very snug fit without pulling down too tightly; the tailored cover is smooth at highway speeds with no flapping and only a small slack material billowing at the trailer bumper post.
