The first improvement I made to our 96 26X was to build a new galley insert. I wanted more organized space under the counter. I added three drawers to the aft, two shelves with a door in the middle and a door on the fore of the galley. This is all attached to a plywood face that is bolted to the inside of the molded fiberglass galley in the same way the original galley insert was attached. Most of the weight is supported on a floor that I constructed sitting on the long ballast tank tube on the bottom of the boat. Weve been using this for 5 years and it has served us well.
