Inexpensive/Easy Laz Floor

posted 04-26-2010 by Doug91mac26s

When I first got my boat I really didnt like putting stuff in the laz right on the bottom of the hull. I have since replaced this with a wood floor, but it did work pretty good. I thought Id pass it on, in case anyone might be interested. Its real easy and inexpensive to make. I made it out of sched 40 PVC, in two sections, so it could be removed through the hatch if required. All the pieces were dry fitted together, no glue was used. The cross pieces were just slipped over and could be moved to give the best spacing, hopefully you can tell what I mean by looking at the pictures. This really makes a quite strong support system. I put my anchor and rode in there inside a crate, barbecue, buckets, and a whole lot of other stuff.
