Shore Power

posted 04-26-2010 by Doug91mac26s

I installed the shore power inlet plug in the motor well. I use that pigtail at home while the boat is on the trailer, I can plug in a standard extension cord, which will keep the dual batteries topped off. Two duplex outlets are installed inside the cabin. The first one after the 30amp breaker is a GFCI. I used 10ga stranded/tinned marine grade copper wire between the inlet plug and the circuit breaker. From the breaker to the outlets, 12ga stranded/tinned marine grade copper wire was used.
