Before I did this mod the rudder was somewhat hard to lift. I installed these Ronstan blocks on the rail making it much easier. I used two fiddle blocks, one with a v-jam. I connected them at both ends to pulpit anchors.

In the picture you can also see the tiller riser I bought from Idasailor. It keeps the tiller from dragging across the top of the laz.
