General condition and any additional information

The CRUISE VIDEO on the web site documents an October 2015 trip to Green Turtle Cay and sailing in The Sea of Abaco, Bahamas. macgregor26xcruiser.com (copy and paste in your browser)

I spent four months cruising the Sea of Abaco in Winter 2016 and several months in 2017. With eighty on my horizon I have decided to hang it up in 2018. The JUDY B is now for sale. She has returned from The Sea of Abaco in January, 2018 and is currently in storage at Evergreen, Colorado (near Denver). Contact at jjmetz1@msn.com

Standard features

I purchased my Mac in 2010. It was in pristine condition and clearly had been lightly used. I picked the boat up from covered storage where the original owner reported it had been for most of its life. It was completely stock and unmodified. The only unusual aspect of it was a Nissan 90 hp motor rather than the usual 50’s found on most Macs. Although she will do over 25 miles per hour, I almost never go over her optimal cruising speed of 5 to 6 mph. Since I wanted a “cruising and live aboard” boat and the stock little Mac 26 I bought left something to be desired, I set about to make it serve my particular live aboard and cruising needs. I have spent a considerable amount of money (well over an additional $30k beyond the $16k purchase price) and many hundreds of hours of my time since the original purchase to get to this. I have lived both “on the hook” and in marinas during the winter in the Florida Keys, cruised for months in the Bahamas and enjoyed many summer days and nights of sailing and fishing at the lakes and reservoirs in and around Colorado. This relatively small boat has a full complement of everything one needs to live aboard and/or cruise for months. It also serves as a great camper when towing cross country.
